So I finally arrived and sort of settled in Denmark. Feeling very happy about it. And finally found a moment of inspiration to write something.

I live in a student dormitory called Nybrogård Kollegiet (www.nybro.dk).

In the first two weeks I finished most of my arrival affairs, such as getting CPR number, a bank account, tax registration, a cell phone, etc. All of this went pretty fast, none of the queues you get in Ukraine/Serbia/Czech at registration offices. The only thing that bothers is that most places close early. Such as my local bank branch – from 12 to 16. At 17:30 nothing works, except grocery shops.

The dormitory is really a nice place. Situated between two lakes in a very quite district near the town of Lyngby. It takes 25 minutes by foot to get there. Lyngby is a local bus and train station and is generally a food-shopping place. Lyngby is also a place of many lost hours in waiting for the bus to come. And there is no night bus at night… ouch

Downtown is a really nice place. It is usually crowded with people on Friday and Saturday nights. I never thought that Danes as snobby as they seem would actually hang out so good. All night. And they drink. A lot.

Work is interesting and the work conditions are amazing. I would really recommend MDCC as a place to work at. Especially if you want to have a good start with your career. The business products that Microsoft develops in Denmark are definitely the most complex out of all the product range. They have tons and tons of functionality and still are pretty easy to use.

A bit more about Denmark. Denmark is considered one of the most advanced countries in the world. People here consider themselves the happiest on earth. What you first notice is that everything is built upon taxes. People pay a considerable tax percentage which provides them with many freebies from the state. As a foreigner you might not see it all at first. But still, wages are amongst the highest in the world so you can happily live :). Which is what I am trying to do.
