So I finally arrived and sort of settled in Denmark. Feeling very happy about it. And finally found a moment of inspiration to write something.
I live in a student dormitory called Nybrogård Kollegiet (www.nybro.dk).
In the first two weeks I finished most of my arrival affairs, such as getting CPR number, a bank account, tax registration, a cell phone, etc. All of this went pretty fast, none of the queues you get in Ukraine/Serbia/Czech at registration offices. The only thing that bothers is that most places close early. Such as my local bank branch – from 12 to 16. At 17:30 nothing works, except grocery shops.

I recently moved do Copenhagen, a great place! And Microsoft’s development center is probably the
best place to work in Denmark.

Основна частина матеріалу буде доступна англійською мовою.
Існує декілька тем:
Програми – тут будуть викладені мої програми.
Запитання – запитання пов’язані з програмуванням, які часто зустрічаються на співбесідах.
Приклади – прикладі типових задач, які зустрічаються на співбесідах.
Увага. Відповіді на запитання можуть бути не повними і не оптимальні. Матеріал подметься у такому вигляді щоб допомогти зробити перші кроки у підготовці до співбесід.

Recently I’ve been working hard on my web site, so here come the results:
1.Theme change – simple but readable, comment?
2.Photo gallery – added a nice phpGraphy script. Seems to do the job. Not all pictures are visible to the public, contact me if you want to see them all.
3.Google ads – added 3 ads of different size. I wasn’t so hard as it seems, the guys from Google have done a great job. Give me click or two!
4.Footer, header, links etc – these take some time to perfect, thankfully the WordPress system is user friendly.
Except working on my site, on Tuesday 4th of September I was passing Unix Network Programming exam at MATF. We were asked to write a port forwarding server, so that you can reach services on other ports, thus, for example, passing firewalls. I got tangled up with wrappers to library and system routines, lost some time adapting to the work environment, which I must comment was horrible, especially GNU Emacs and XGA resolution on a native SXGA TFT monitor. Finally, when I got to solving the task I didn’t have a clue of how to do it… and I was in a desperate zeitnot. But, disappointments aside, I had a great time learning Unix-like OS’s and I believe that I will continue using Linux parallel to Microsoft Windows. I will attend the exam in approximately two weeks.

I installed Kubuntu (Ubuntu + KDE) Linux some three weeks ago. It was simple, the installation process takes less than Vista, it doesn’t disturb with questions during the process and does not display stupid text messages that praise the OS (like XP or Win98 did). Hello, World!
If starting programming begins with the beloved “Hello, World!” phrase, why shouldn’t a blog?
So Hello, World! I’m Mykhailo, alias mihich. Most people who visit the blog in the beginning probably know me.
I’ve just started my own blog on my own web site. I’m finishing uploading my CV and about me info. Do come back later, maybe I’ll add more stuff.
Being my first blog and also my first real web site I still wonder how long will I be able to post here and how long will I be able to maintain the site. Hope it lasts… Hope it won’t bore stiff anyone…
